base construction - battery compartment door broke
Frustrated with this camera, which we've had for 2+ years. It takes best photos, don't get me wrong. The compartment door to the battery & SD card part broke. It is made of plastic and a little catch piece on the front entrance broke, so that the door will not firmly close. This causes the the camera to impute to that the batteries are low and the batteries seem to drain much faster now. We've taped the entry shut, and I even hold it shut while I'm taking photos. It's a sincere pain. B/c of the frequency of removing photo cards from cameras, any mfr. should imagine this part of the camera metal. For this reason only, I don't recommend the camera.

Works delicate, but...
Yikes! I own three Canon digital cameras... this is the sole one that gobbles batteries like they are candy. On a brand-new trip, I went though 4 sets in one day.
Yes, I took a lot of pictures. but with the other Canons I get used, the AA batteries lasted most of the day before I had to change them.
Pictures are significant, but this power issue is a big disappointment. This will NOT be infatuated on any vacations... it will be a stay at home camera not.

Zealous for Grandmom

I was hoping to determine a simple to use point and shoot camera for myself, and this is it. My husband has his SLR camera to imprison him happy with a whole list of features. For myself, I good wanted a camera that I can put in my pocket or handbag to take swift on the spot pictures of grandkids. I really don't think I need to use whatever but the auto mode. I've only had it for a week, but I love it already following playing with it. I just turn it on and let the camera decide which is unsurpassed for me to take that picture of my grandaughter playing her violin. The fee on Amazon was great. I saw it advertised in a Best Buy store for the same figure, but I decided to go with Amazon with free shipping and no sales tax. The shipping was totally fast even in our NJ snowy weather. So- if you're looking for a easy to use camera for a youngster or a superior citizen like me, then this Canon AS1100 is for you. Like I said, all I lack to do is point and shoot.

Eager Shell Case
I ordered a rose-tinted one, but received a black/gray one in the mail, but didn't have metre to follow up because I needed one for my daughter the very next day, so we kept the infernal one. It's not hard like I thought it would be, it's still bendable (not like a lump of steel is inside of case) so it's a semi hard case that protects the camera satisfactorily I guess.

Measurements does matter.
Article seems well built. Case should be slightly larger to be hand-me-down with the Canon 1100 series camera, otherwise lot of stress would be placed on the zipper termination.

TOO Shamed
I am uncommonly disappointed with the size of this case. Although it is required to accommodate the Canon A1100IS,I find the camera just barely squeezes in. I don't be aware how you would even fit the SD card in it (which there is a pocket for it on the by nature). You would think that by looking at the outside of it that the sides big-hearted up all the way-nopeeee. There are very tight elastic straps on the sides which nip in the bud it from opening up all the way thus making a very tight fit. You in the same way have to cram the wrist strap of the camera in it. The only 2 favourable things I can say about it is the color is very pretty and the case is moulded and seems like it would watch over the camera if it was accidently dropped. All in all not worth the money. There are larger cases for the same price if not cheaper. I just bought it and not not don't expect to use it but am planning to buy a better case.
