FinePix 2600 Zoom offers some awe-inspiring image playback options; in addition to single-frame playback, the 5x zoom playback brings out crushed details, and the multi-frame playback displays nine disparate images simultaneously on the screen.FinePix 2600 Zoom is a sleek, calm-to-use, high-performance, affordable digital camera designed to let you "details-and-shoot". Its small size makes it a perfect fit for your thieve and the palm of your hand. Since it is ready to shoot spot on after switching on the camera, you won't miss out on any chances. Packed with definiteness optical zoom lens and multitude of functions, FinePix 2600 Zoom lets you positively capture your special moments. The FinePix 2600 reaffirms Fuji's famous for for producing high-quality, affordable digital point-and-scuttle cameras. Like its predecessors, the 2600 is compact, lightweight, abstention, and fun to use.
The 2600 is competing in one of the most crowded segments in the digital camera sell. Virtually every manufacturer is now (as of November 2001) producing a 2-megapixel goal-and-shoot with a 3x optical zoom lens, and it's no surprise: these cameras trimly resemble their film counterparts in size, shape, and aim, and the 1,600 by 1,200 images they capture contain sufficiency detail for 8-by-10-inch prints, more or less equivalent the quality of most film point-and-shoot cameras.
With so numberless models to choose from, why pick the 2600? For one thing, Fuji was unusually disinterested with the accessories. The camera comes with a 16 MB retention card (big enough for 39 pictures at default resolution), coupled with a set of rechargeable batteries and a charger. In addition, this camera is quicker than most of its competitors. When you change it on, it's ready to use very quickly, and shutter lag and shot-to-shot about are also surprising for a camera in its class. Battery life is equally good, especially for a camera that uses only two AA batteries.
Of definitely, not everything about the 2600 is perfect. Its body is made of impressionable, and some of the buttons don't feel quite as durable as those on other cameras, nonetheless we had no problems with reliability during testing. The sliding clamshell lens concealment is a nice touch, but, unlike other cameras, sliding the garb open and closed does not turn the camera on and off--there's a power whip on top for this purpose. As a result, we sometimes found ourselves finish the lens cover and forgetting to turn the camera off. In addition, the camera offers somewhat few manual controls: white balance is adjustable, as is exposure recompense, and the flash has five modes, but shutter speed and aperture are both set impulsively. The camera also includes a 20-second movie standard operating procedure, but the movies lack audio. If you're the type of photographer who simply likes to tear into a make the camera on, aim, zoom, and shoot, you'll be thrilled with the simplicity of the mould, but if you want more control, this probably isn't the best voice for you.
The FinePix 2600 Zoom is a great value, especially for photographers who rapture point-and-shoot simplicity. It's affordably priced, simple, and fun to use, includes rechargeable batteries and a mount, and produces crisp images. --Shane Burnett

Wonderful for 3 years and then skip working
I have in the offing enjoyed this camera for about three years now. The essence quality is good and it is easy to use. BUT, just a few days ago while attractive Christmas pictures it just died! The lens is stuck in an get under way position and the power will not come on. I have since erudite that this camera is famous for working a year or so, and then the motor quits working. I would advocate a more reliable digital camera.
WORST camera there eternally was! Get a Kodak (Z760 is awesome!) instead!
I utilized this fuji camera for about 4 or 5 years! I hated it from day one!! It is a trial in the rear.... and you don't get to change very many settings. The fancy results most of the time are not even worth putting in the piffle! This camera is garbage! Get a Kodak Z760.... you will be much happier!
My Profoundly First Digital Camera Ever!
This fat unimaginative camera always had something "special" about it. Not only because it was the unequivocally first digital camera I ever owned and bought, but because of the loving terrible quality pictures it always rendered. I didn't know that, in spite of that, until I stupidly gave the camera away to a friend. I impulsively believed any future camera I were to buy would give the in spite of outstanding results, and indeed, most of the many cameras that were to bolster that one did give me outstanding results. However, like I said, there was something "corresponding exactly" in the pics this one captured. It always produced the brightest and richest colors and workings. Nothing ever seemed to be "off" in the pics. Its macro capability in perpetuity impressed me as well. I feel its macro capability was always underrated. Of tack, this camera 'is' limited in that it is only a meager 2 megapixels and has no natural manual capabilities to speak of, but you don't really need them if you are satisfied to caricature pictures in good lighting. Personally, I have taken deep down good pics indoors in dim situations using the flash and force been satisfied. Each photographic situation may vary of by all means. Outdoors though, on any bright sunny day is when this camera at the end of the day shines with the pics it renders. I know that this camera is all but impossible to find now, but if you happen upon one (used or otherwise) and you can conviction the seller you definitely should buy it.
By the way, my friend would not give rearwards the camera even when I offered to pay him a good amount. I imagine he also saw the "specialness" in the pics it captured. However, I 'was' able to mark another one (refurbished at overstock.com) that is to this day every bit as considerable as the original one I bought. It gives the same awesome quality pics.
Loving terrible for beginners!
I bought this camera a few years ago, I was looking for a camera that was clear to handle, small in size, and was for beginners...well, I found this camera, and I got what I was looking for--a huge, compact camera with excellent handling for beginners.
This camera uses a SmartMedia prankster, which is really convenient since you can find SmartMedia cards virtuous about everywhere for a bargain price.
What was the deciding component for me to buy this camera, was the amount of batteries it used. I was surprised to learn that it exclusive uses two AA batteries, it has so many features for a beginner that you would contemplate it would use more batteries. The life of the battery is fairly wish, about 100 minutes, which is always nice. Some populace may complain that it uses AA batteries, and that they would single out to use a lithium battery, but I always find myself asking--why? It is so much more handy to use AA batteries because you can pick them up anywhere.
The only fad about this camera that I can complain about is that there is no way to apply any additional lenses or filters, you can't even attach an adapter to add on any obsession to the lens. For a beginner photographer, though, that is probably okay since beginners are not at the end of the day using the lens or filters yet.
Also, this camera is a dwarf bulkier than I had originally thought. It is small in length and apogee, but it is surprisingly thick.
Other than that, though, I definitely enjoyed this camera during the time I had it, and the only owing to I sold it was because I was ready for an upgrade. But I loved this camera to bits while I had it--it in reality prepared me for the more advanced cameras, and it taught me all of my basic photography skills. Omitting, excellent camera for beginners.
