Its small size makes it a perfect fit for your lift and the palm of your hand. Since it is ready to shoot claim after switching on the camera, you won't miss out on any chances. Packed with literalism optical zoom lens and multitude of functions, FinePix 2600 Zoom lets you definitely capture your special moments. The FinePix 2600 reaffirms Fuji's position for producing high-quality, affordable digital point-and-bolt cameras. Like its predecessors, the 2600 is compact, lightweight, quick, and fun to use.
The 2600 is competing in one of the most crowded segments in the digital camera sell. Virtually every manufacturer is now (as of November 2001) producing a 2-megapixel show-and-shoot with a 3x optical zoom lens, and it's no surprise: these cameras densely resemble their film counterparts in size, shape, and purpose, and the 1,600 by 1,200 images they capture contain enough particularly for 8-by-10-inch prints, more or less matching the nobility of most film point-and-shoot cameras.
With so profuse models to choose from, why pick the 2600? For one thing, Fuji was unusually lavish with the accessories. The camera comes with a 16 MB remembrance card (big enough for 39 pictures at default resolution), together with a set of rechargeable batteries and a charger. In addition, this camera is quicker than most of its competitors. When you show up it on, it's ready to use very quickly, and shutter lag and shot-to-shot effectuation are also surprising for a camera in its class. Battery life is likewise good, especially for a camera that uses only two AA batteries.
Of despatch, not everything about the 2600 is perfect. Its body is made of sham, and some of the buttons don't feel quite as durable as those on other cameras, be that as it may we had no problems with reliability during testing. The sliding clamshell lens shield is a nice touch, but, unlike other cameras, sliding the cap open and closed does not turn the camera on and off--there's a power lash on top for this purpose. As a result, we sometimes found ourselves finish the lens cover and forgetting to turn the camera off. In addition, the camera offers extent few manual controls: white balance is adjustable, as is exposure recompense, and the flash has five modes, but shutter speed and aperture are both set intuitively. The camera also includes a 20-second movie method, but the movies lack audio. If you're the type of photographer who simply likes to extinguish b disillusion the camera on, aim, zoom, and shoot, you'll be thrilled with the simplicity of the delineate, but if you want more control, this probably isn't the best voice for you.
The FinePix 2600 Zoom is a great value, especially for photographers who liking point-and-shoot simplicity. It's affordably priced, simple, and fun to use, includes rechargeable batteries and a pony, and produces crisp images. --Shane Burnett

Wonderful for 3 years and then cease working
I would rather enjoyed this camera for about three years now. The perfect quality is good and it is easy to use. BUT, just a few days ago while engaging Christmas pictures it just died! The lens is stuck in an susceptible position and the power will not come on. I have since scholarly that this camera is famous for working a year or so, and then the motor quits working. I would commend a more reliable digital camera.
WORST camera there till the end of time was! Get a Kodak (Z760 is awesome!) instead!
I habituated to this fuji camera for about 4 or 5 years! I hated it from day one!! It is a torture in the rear.... and you don't get to change very many settings. The see in the mind's eye results most of the time are not even worth putting in the horseshit! This camera is garbage! Get a Kodak Z760.... you will be much happier!
My Deeply First Digital Camera Ever!
This fat negligible camera always had something "special" about it. Not only because it was the bare first digital camera I ever owned and bought, but because of the artistic quality pictures it always rendered. I didn't know that, how, until I stupidly gave the camera away to a friend. I on impulse believed any future camera I were to buy would give the even so outstanding results, and indeed, most of the many cameras that were to make good that one did give me outstanding results. However, like I said, there was something "unmatched" in the pics this one captured. It always produced the brightest and richest colors and minutiae. Nothing ever seemed to be "off" in the pics. Its macro capability usually impressed me as well. I feel its macro capability was always underrated. Of practice, this camera 'is' limited in that it is only a meager 2 megapixels and has no existent manual capabilities to speak of, but you don't really need them if you are satisfied to quarter pictures in good lighting. Personally, I have taken exceedingly good pics indoors in dim situations using the flash and bear been satisfied. Each photographic situation may vary of path. Outdoors though, on any bright sunny day is when this camera honestly shines with the pics it renders. I know that this camera is all but impossible to find now, but if you happen upon one (used or otherwise) and you can bank the seller you definitely should buy it.
By the way, my friend would not give break the camera even when I offered to pay him a good amount. I suspicion he also saw the "specialness" in the pics it captured. However, I 'was' able to happen another one (refurbished at overstock.com) that is to this day every bit as beneficial as the original one I bought. It gives the same awesome quality pics.
Marvy for beginners!
I bought this camera a few years ago, I was looking for a camera that was amenable to handle, small in size, and was for beginners...well, I found this camera, and I got what I was looking for--a grand, compact camera with excellent handling for beginners.
This camera uses a SmartMedia pasteboard, which is really convenient since you can find SmartMedia cards at most about everywhere for a bargain price.
What was the deciding influence for me to buy this camera, was the amount of batteries it used. I was surprised to learn that it simply uses two AA batteries, it has so many features for a beginner that you would over recall it would use more batteries. The life of the battery is fairly yearn, about 100 minutes, which is always nice. Some residents may complain that it uses AA batteries, and that they would pick to use a lithium battery, but I always find myself asking--why? It is so much more at one's fingertips to use AA batteries because you can pick them up anywhere.
The only article about this camera that I can complain about is that there is no way to cement any additional lenses or filters, you can't even attach an adapter to add on any point to the lens. For a beginner photographer, though, that is probably okay since beginners are not in effect using the lens or filters yet.
Also, this camera is a elfin bulkier than I had originally thought. It is small in length and summit, but it is surprisingly thick.
Other than that, though, I sedulously enjoyed this camera during the time I had it, and the only perspicacity I sold it was because I was ready for an upgrade. But I loved this camera to bits while I had it--it undeniably prepared me for the more advanced cameras, and it taught me all of my basic photography skills. Major, excellent camera for beginners.
