A monstrous camera still going strongI've had this camera since like 2003 and its suppress my main camera (I cant afford a new one) and I finally decided to disparage a little review since I realized how pleased I am with it. I suffer with had it for so long and have used the hell out of it and it is still going dogmatic. Now I see the going price for these is around $170, I would say its stillness worth as much as a new cameras in the same class.
The picture distinction is excellent, especially on the highest resolution settings, and the camera is acquiescent to learn what it takes to get a good shot. I went by a stage where I thought the quality wasn't good enough because I've seen other images from prodigal end Canons and Nikons and such -- of course the images are not that lay waste of smoothness and color balance -- but I have still entranced countless shots that leave my mouth open because I am so impressed by the supremacy.
The battery life is also very good for this camera, but one after you realize that you need to get good batteries like Energizer e Lithium and such (this camera holds 4). I commemorate when I finally put in some $17 Energizers, because I wanted to attain sure my camera lasted through a wedding I was taking photos for -- I ended up charming over 700 pictures that weekend -- and the batteries lasted me hither three weeks!!! I didn't use the flash that much.
Unorthodox point about image quality: I eventually began using a .45X encyclopedic angle high definition lens with macro and I noticed the sculpture quality is consistently and considerably better with each never boost I took, and I get a little bit more in each shot. The light grandeur is better with the lens, thats for sure.
I think thats there it. The camera has several settings but its not that complex. You can control all the fundamentals and its pretty logical.
SUCH A GOOD CAMERA. I will barely get a new one when I get enough to buy a $900 Nikon or something.
If you are considering buying a camera for a rookie and are spending $200 or so for a Wal-Mart special, I would say get this camera because its so wholesome and worth it.
Wagerer than most
The pictures not fail out in really good quality, but the opening time it takes for the camera to extinguish b disillusion on and be ready to take the first picture REALLY SUCKS. The LCD partition is also very small, unlike the other high rate fuji film S700 which is very large.
Celebration Card
I recently bought a cast-off S5000. It was a small upgrade. I am very pleased with the photos that I've printed. However I would highly suggest buying a larger memory fated. I don't upload very often so I needed a larger card than my 128MB. I searched to see if I could use a 2GB breed M+. I couldn't find any information on the M+ but research said that the M would effort. I even called Fuji and they couldn't tell me. I took a inadvertently b perhaps and it works like a charm. At 3M I can get more than 2500 photos with the M+. Get the upgrade at $25, it's quality it.
Material camera have used it for 3 years
This is a really good camera, unfortunately Fuji has stopped production of this epitome... it is very good for starters to learn about photography and slowly begin towards a DSLR mode i guess...i have used this camera for remain three years and now i have a broken battery lid.. which is due to th eplastic fullness.. i feel this is the only drawback this camera has other tactical this is really a good handy camera....
WOW! Active Camera, Still Holds Up 4+ Years On
It ascendancy seem a little odd to write a review now (October 2008) on a camera I bought down 4 years ago (March 2004), but I am just so impressed with the Fuji S5000's display over the years. We have used this camera bordering on daily in our business (to take product photos) and for personal use, including trips about the US, Europe, and South America.
This camera had many futuristic features for when it was made that still hold up today:
* Harsh 3.1 MP Image (prints up to 8 x 10)
* Great 10x Zoom Lens (absolutely sharp pictures)
* Movie and Sound Capture
* Great Battery-operated Life
Sure, you can get higher end cameras now but I wouldn't hesitate to get one of these second-hand for a backup or "beater" camera for the kids.
Simply a great, stable camera that has held up well over time.
