Reoccurring sensor problemsIn rancour of the well-documented imperfections, I have loved this camera and have in the offing continued to use it even after acquiring a Nikon D200 (DSLR). I obtain loved the portability of this point and shoot, and its ability to pinch RAW data images - enabling professional level adjustments in the position-processing phase. Great landscape camera, as well as a consummate macro point and shoot camera. My unique gripe is this: I bought my E550 in 11/05. In June 06, I was getting a section in all my pictures. Naively, I thought it was a spot on the lens, but brought it in for covenant service and learned that the CCD card (the sensor) had burned out a few cells. It was replaced, underneath the warranty. But now, 3 years later, I have the same exit. The new sensor has now burnt out cells. And not only is the camera not under bond, but the old warranty service providers advise that Fuji has pulled all its bond and authorized repair services out of the U.S., so the cameras must be mailed out of hinterlands for warranty service. The parts for repairs aren't available in this, making convenient repairs and fast turn around times impenetrable to the consumer. I'm concerned about two sensor failures in a well cared for camera. Both, casually, occurred immediately after flying, so I'm wondering whether there is some vulnerability to living in a pressurized cabin?? In any event, I'm off now to see whether Fuji has any reasoned resolutions to what appears to be a defective design in an otherwise stupendous sensor. Stay tuned.
watch out the zoom error
I obtain had this camera for over 2 years and have LOVED the photo excellence and ease of use. The camera is very quick, takes great macro shots and doesn't eat up (rechargeable) batteries.
That living said, 2 days ago it started overexposing my pictures. Then it locked up wholly. I was able to get my pictures downloaded off of it, but, after reading other online reviews (chiefly of Fuji's poor customer service and the persistance of this mess with Fuji cameras) I am now shopping around for a new camera. I inclination not be buying another Fuji, which is too bad, because I really did affection it while it worked.

I pleasure this camera!
I am so in amity with this camera, it served me well for 3 years until my toddler shattered it. I now have the dilemma of finding a new camera I will love as much. It was so down-to-earth to use, took sharp beautifully colored photos, preformed conspicuous in low light situations, I had no problem printing large photos without any graininess. I'm tempted to fair-minded buy the same camera, but in 3 years I am assuming there have been larger improvements and I can find something even better. I hope!
Macabre Customer Service!!!
The camera is great as long as nothing goes wrong. Fuji has the worst patron service I have ever delt with. They unfashionable you from one person to another and do everything they can not to help you. Be convenience to deal with the worst customer service in the business. I truly hope this helps you.
Spacious for the price!
This camera has served me splendidly over the last few years. There are a few things that you have need of to be aware of however. The first thing is that the flash has a hold off. You have to wait for it to recharge in between each picture if you are using the smart and that can take at least 6-8 seconds. Taking pictures of clutch can be challenging if you are using the flash! With that said, the camera has been peerless. It is very simple to learn!
