adapted to, look ugly, but working
It is a replacement for a grey Kodak gel imaging system. It looks that it has been through a lot, but works only fine. Price was a bit high considering the age, feature and the condition of the sentiment.
22,000 Pics and Soundless Working Great
I bought my DC290 new in November 1999 for $799 from Computers4safe.com ($1099 MSRP). They had just come out. It has been utilized all over the US, Mexico and Japan to take 22,000 pics!
The camera is sheer slow after about five shots when it is longhand to the CF card. It also requires 4 batteries, which wasn't much be concerned until I bought a newer Kodak that is faster and only requires two batteries.
The image quality is very good. I always use the lowest compression and largest depict size. It came with a 20MB CF, but I later purchased a 64MB, 256MB and 512MB. Getting at one's fingertips to buy a 2GB CF, which probably won't work on the DC290.
My DC290 is just a spare camera now. I in the same way have a Canon Digital Rebel SLR, a Kodak DX4530 and a Sony U30 (spy camera! Fragrant!).

I bought this camera for $300 and partake of always been happy with it. Takes great pictures, does sooner a be wearing some delay, and is a little heavy. I also got the E 11 By mistake message but I don't have the manual anymore. Now I'm on the hunt to find someone to fix this... If I twig anyone, I'll let you all know.
*** Update:
The E 11 error message was from ruination of the media card, most likely from taking too profuse pictures too fast, or from not giving the camera time ample to write data to the card before I turned it off. Even behindhand reformatting the card it was useless and I had to throw it away. Shame, but the camera in any case takes great pics, just give it a little conditions to shoot, and don't take pictures on low batteries. Could ruin the reveal all.
