    Point and Shoot Camera suggestions?

    I am looking to advantage a new digital camera and have been reading reviews etc. But... I am not by any means a "photographer". I lately want a nice camera to capture my kids parties and every day adventures. Frustrating to decide what's the best for my well off ... I have been looking at a Canon PowerShot A590IS 8MP Digital Camera and a Kodak EasyShare C913 9.2MP Digital Camera and stressful to figure out why the one with MORE megapixels is cheaper? Is it upright because of the name "canon" and the canon Deo volente has more features? (which I would organize no idea how to use).
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.. rudely I want a reasonably priced point and rush camera but want to be able to actually language the photos and half of them not be blurry!

    **bonus .. I currently own a Canon Powershot A520 ... which I deceive been VERY pleased with. But it's getting old a bit tardy and only has 4.0 MP so I want to upgrade a bit! ***
