DON'T connect the Kodak software! DO buy some memory!This is an prime little camera but following the setup instructions that came with it, scarcely led my wife to send her gift back in disgust. These instructions direct you to install the software CD onto your computer before plugging in the camera to a USB anchorage. If you do this, you will be burdened with a bulky, clumsy, only just usable User Interface/Web UI with the sole purpose of selling you supplementary Kodak products and services and, in the process, preventing any other, more helpful program from getting access to the camera driver for viewing or downloading images. Assign me, this software makes iTunes seem sleek, and unintrusive!
At the back struggling for hours with the Kodak software, the included manual, the downloaded Owner Guide, the downloaded "Extended" User Guide, and the online tutorial, we gave up and did what we should contain done in the first place. We uninstalled all of the supplied software, re-booted, and plugged in the camera anew. And yes, Windows 7, recognized the camera, located and installed the compulsory driver and offered us a selection of access methods for viewing and downloading pictures, using our own software, such as PhotoShop Elements, PhotoImpact, Windows Photo Terrace, and Media Player.
You also need to know that the readily obtainable "barebones" memory of the camera holds no more than a dozen pictures. To steer clear of a disappointing gift experience, you should add a card with a yoke of gigabytes of SD memory (or microSD with an adaptor) to be plugged in as without delay as the camera is unwrapped.

I got this camera for my birthday, and it worked exceptionally stream. I was in love with it because of the ease of use, the wide pan shot, and the seamless development from camera to computer without any sort of issues.
While it worked.
Not temperate a year after I received it, it no longer worked. I was very attentive with the camera. I didn't drop it, didn't expose it to any throw of liquid, and handled it gently. I was a general user with no noteworthy needs from the camera. One day, the battery drained very very soon and the camera shut off. Thinking I just needed to recharge it, I did so. The camera at no time turned back on. Not completely any way. It pretends to for about a second ahead of shutting off again. Thinking it was a battery issue, I had it checked to write sure I didn't just need to purchase a new battery. The battery-operated was fully charged. I made numerous attempts to get it to work, from bringing it upon someone to the store (to have them tell me it would be cheaper to buy a new camera than get this one repaired) to visiting the line useless Kodak site whose best suggestion to solve my quandary was for me to put the battery in the right way. Right. Thanks a lot for nothing.
My suggestion? Do not buy this camera if you hunger for a digital camera that will last you more than a few months.
Cyclopean camera except for the fact that it never works:(
i bought this camera adjacent to a year ago. i used it all the time, it worked great. but after a few weeks, it didn't tear into a make on, so i sent it to get fixed. a few weeks after that it stopped working once more. it wasn't just mine. my brother and sister also got the unchanged camera, but in different colors. they have had the same problems as me.
Nauseatingly grainy
This is the worst camera I include ever owned. After a month of having it, the firmware got destabilized and had to send it back. Upon getting it returned, the pictures were worse than rather than. No matter where you take your pictures, they thinks fitting always be grainy. It is very poor in low light conditions, and unbroken worse in daylight.
I do not recommend this camera at all.
DO Not Buy
I bought this as a replacement to my Canon 4MP digi and it substandard miserably. Going back to Canon for the rest of my life. My new Canon SD790IS is Marvellous.
