Protracted lasting - great deal
This was my beginning digital camera that I purchased in 2005. I bought a refurbished one for barely 3/4 of the retail price, which was a great deal. As of 2009, I mollify have this camera. It has served every purpose needed. The reaction I like most about this camera is that it starts up in yon 1 second, and takes a picture very quickly. I am always sniper shooting population. It is on the bigger and heavier side, but when it came out it was the real huge quantity. The zoom is really good and can get really close. The only problems I be dressed are taking pictures when its fairly dark, and with some luminous. I am looking for a new camera, but that is only because I want a smaller one, and this one is so scratched up.
I praisefully recommend this camera.

This my subsequent one. I destroyed the first one I owned and searched the internet to find choice one. I bought an 8 megapixel kodak, but didn't like it nearly as much. I done found a refurbished one and bought it immediately.

well-disposed for outdoor shots
This is a leading little camera if you do a lot of outdoor photo shoots of still objects. I experience 3 small children, and it doesn't work too well for my photo requests. I take lots of indoor pictures which most of the conditions turn out pretty dark unless I have it super fluorescent in my house, but that isn't very often. I tried to take pictures at my son's nursery graduation in his classroom, but it was too dark to get even one shot. I had to get video of him to be masterly to see him at all. Not so great for kids in motion either, they are blurry.

Video opportunity is great though. I guess I use this option most on my camera. I have in the offing had this one about a year, and I am going for a canon with IS (trope stabalization) now. I will retire this camera to my husband.

Lens Brakes obviously
this camera worked good, until the lens stopped working one day. now it just makes a grinding rumble. from looking online, this is a common problem. the exterior is metal, but the gears inside are just soft plastic.

Bad Design and Even Poorer Customer Service
LOVED this camera until it insolvent one year later. I mean it completely broke. It's dead. The battery-operated power died during a photo shoot and killed the camera. Now it won't rhythmical turn on. See my post in the forum on this page for more info. The minuscule of it all is, do NOT buy Kodak. My GF has a Canon Elph and it's far more amazing than anything Kodak makes. Supplementary if you ever have to deal with Kodak's customer service...personally, let's hope you never have to.

Was awfully easy to use and took fast nice pictures, was dropped in the good old days about 2 days after I bought it and it completely broke, Got a refurbished one from Kodak and the camera at no time worked right, it eventually went completely out after the agreement was up of course. Did take good pictures while it lasted admitting that.

Mobile life is horrible
I've had my v530 for onto three years now.
It's a very cute camera and the design is identical fine.
It is very easy to navigate, as well.

But the battery living is horrible.
Even if I charge it fully, within 5 minutes of using it, the camera tells me that partly the battery is gone.
And within another 3 minutes, it tells me that the freestyle is almost all gone.
I'm probably one of the worse examples, but I am in no way exaggerating.
I from to constantly remind my friends not to review pictures after they dupe them because the battery runs out even faster when you con.
And I feel pressured for time when I'm trying to enjoy making memories and intriguing shots of them.

The charging of the camera can also be a little bit infuriating.
Personally, I was okay with it, but I don't think everyone would accept the need for a dock to charge the battery every single on one occasion.
It does take more than enough space in my things bag when I travel.
Just another thing you should behold before purchasing this camera.

One year assurance warning, not enough
At the rear getting this camera as a gift last Xmas(2005) i was glad with the features and picture quality. However, when attempting to use it this Xmas (2006) i was greatly triumph when it would not turn on at all. It works in the docking station solely and a new battery does not fix it. I had only used it about 4 times in that in the first place year and when contactin Kodak about a obvious defect, they blew me off and said it was out of it's one year undertaking and all i could do was trade it in and buy a referbished lower end camera for about as much as i paid for this one. I am no longer a Kodak consumer due to this and their response to my inquires. This is not to disuade persona from buying this product, just know near their warranty and how they deal with them previous buying.

terrific camera
I betrothed this camera! I already used the Kodak easyshare software, and there were zero glitches with updating my camera and treat. The short video clips I can take turn out well too. No matter how, I bought this camera thinking that video clips, while shorter, would be nothing but like a video camera stream. Nope. Once you upload, it's unblock the images aren't as high quality. When I was created a DVD and tolerant of video from my old camcorder files (which broke, this place getting this camera) and the files from this camera, intimately, there's no comparison. HOWEVER, the photos are awesome and perhaps all video files from digital cameras aren't as capable as a real camcorder. Anyway, overall VERY happy with the camera.

Attractive pics time after time
I totally love this camera. My previous camera was a Minolta SLR, which I in the same way loved, and I swore I would never "go digital". I be subjected to three children (ages 7, 4, and 1) and I was going from stem to stern at least 2 rolls of film/month... more if a certain event occurred. Several photos on each roll wouldn't assail out, of course, and sometimes (at Christmas, for example) I'd waste an entire spin in one sitting, hoping to get JUST ONE photo where all three cherubs were looking in my operating. But I loved the beauty of the prints so much, and I thought a digital camera couldn't parallel. Oh, how wrong I was! My parents got my husband & me the Kodak for Christmas, and I (sadly but truthfully) refuge't touched the Minolta since. I have just as much fun playing with this camera as I did my SLR, turning off the dazzle and using natural light and changing the color setting to blacklist/white or sepia. My prints are gorgeous, and the best part is shrewd what I'm getting BEFORE I visit the photo lab. I also like the rechargeable medic, even if it is a little bulky to travel with. I would interesting this camera time and time again, especially to digital "rookies" like myself!
