Not usefulness it.While the camera is warm looking with a beautiful LCD and is easy to carry, there are lots of other cameras on the furnish that offer the same AND take good pictures. The seat line with the Nikon Coolpix S560 is that it takes fine pictures in propitious outdoor lighting, and terrible pictures anywhere else. I've had three Canon Powershot Digital Elph series cameras current back 12 years or so, and they were uniformly terrific. This is my from the start Nikon and it will certainly be my last.
lens problems
I had my camera in every direction 8 months when the lens started to have problems. If you do a search this is a stereotyped theme among the smaller Nikon cameras. I have to send my camera in times past to Nikon, but will plan on purchasing a new Cannon as soon as i can.
Nikon wishes to imporove the point and shoot cameras!
For the most percentage, this camera looks good, quick response and the mobile life is great! But the VR feature is not all that and the over all picture mark needs work. Point and shoot cameras are not made for top win quality photos but for the money you spend, they should be. Upright? I want to look into getting the Nikon Coolpix S8000 but read the comments and...star-crossed results with photos.
What is it? Not one point and shoot camera, that I deceive ever owned, has produced awesome pictures. I am picky and thanks be given to goodness for the DSLRs!
I get great results with my D90! Nikon....rethink the way you filch your point and shoot coolpix cameras! What are you all holding out for? You all can do ameliorate than that! Consumers are paying big bucks for these devices and we get in turn in, nothing to write home about!
The only reason why I obtain a point and shoot cool pix is because I can't always have my D90 with me so I demand a small purse size shooter! I would just turtle-dove to have the prefect Coolpix compact camera! Wouldn't you?
It could be a sales ruse. You buy a camera, don't like it, don't return it and you wait for the next one, buy it, don't like it don't renewal it or maybe you do. But the point is...you keep buying and hoping this is the one and it is not. If you buy one you are satisfied with, no more sales! Righteous? So..you buy and buy and buy.
Don't conjecture the HYPE!!!
i recently started looking to buy a new camera in the rear the LCD screen on my s560 cracked in half. i was a little shocked when this happened. but, i in the same way had fallen from a 5 foot drop off and landed on my back-waves with it in my back pocket. so, while it may be suseptible to cracking, it had held up very well during the year that i used it. i've traveled completely europe with it and have taken over 20,000 pics. i was shocked at the rear reading some of the other reviews that blasted it and claimed that it was a terrible camera. it is a point-and-shoot! it is not an SLR. if you want perfection and control, buy an SLR. BUT, rounded off though the s560 does have its limitations(the biggest of with is indoor shooting=graininess)you can elude a lot of poor image issues by learning a little bit about the camera. it is a supple shooter and has a few great controls that allow you to compensate for a multifariousness of shooting situations. i.e. washed out or under-lit scenes(exposure recompense); also, you can avoid grainy images by lowering the (ISO setting), AND, most importantly, you can leap in RAW mode so that you can open the image up in photoshop or any editing program and with all speed fix contrast, color satuation and/or sharpness/focus. after i looked at all of the other element-an-shoot reviews i decided to buy a replacement lcd screen for 40 bucks and put aside up for an SLR. otherwise, why overspend on anything when its going to have limitations anyway? the s560 has skilled depth of field and a great macro mode too. its a solid responsible camera that is compact and easy to use. if you want to buy something that you don't attired in b be committed to to fret over if you lose it or if it gets broken, this is a brilliant older model camera to get. 10 megapixels is still numbers enough for just about any printing you may want to do. the main stregth of the s560 is for outside/natural light & travel shooting. i'm extremely lazy and i wouldnt would rather written this had i not felt that the other reviews were impartial plain bogus. buy an extra battery, save some currency and have fun!
Pitiable in low light
I bought the s560 in Splendid and have loved it until recently. I bought it specifically for a excursion I was taking out west. I had an older coolpix that I really liked for its plenty of use and picture quality, so Nikon was an easy choice. The camera took alluring pictures of vineyards and mountains and ocean scenes--all on bright smiling days. It wasn't until I tried to take pictures at a backer's wedding that I became disappointed. The mood lighting of the pro formas matched with the measly flash was too much for the camera to control. All the pictures came out dark despite my close proximity to the altar. Dialect mayhap someone with more photography/camera knowledge could goat with the settings to get a better picture. I tried changing ISO settings to no avail. Other fresh indoor events have led to similar dark, disappointing pictures. If you're looking for a skilful outdoor camera, I would recommend the s560. But, if you want something that does both indoor and alfresco well, I would find something else.
