Hale Camera, Disappointing QualityI bought this camera because I wanted a remind emphasize and shoot that still allowed me to have manual settings. When I got it, I was a taste disappointed in the picture quality. The contrast is usually pretty walk-up, sometimes it is grainy. Sometimes it doesn't use the flash when I over it should, etc. All of this can be fixed using iPhoto, so if you're not picky it's not a big great amount. (I usually do some editing anyway so it works out fine.)
Be that as it may, the major redeeming quality of this camera is what happened on Christmas Eve of rearmost year: Running across the yard to help my boyfriend get his car out of a snow course, it bounced out of my coat pocket. I had no idea what had happened to it, so didn't invent to look in the yard where it laid under 6 inches of snow for a month. My aunt base the camera after the snow had melted, handed it back to me, and it instantaneously turned on and took pictures.
It's definitely a durable camera and the draw quality is still doable. I would recommend this camera.
Nikon S710
This is a decidedly simple camera to use. It has great zoom capabilities and with the vibration reduction it puzzling not to take a good picture.
A bit junky
I heretofore owned a Nikon Coolpix 4200 and after about 3 years of flawless utilization in conditions ranging from zero degree winter hikes to summer sailing-yacht trips I thought Nikon made the best point-n-shoots. Perchance they do, but the S710 is an exception. The BIOS chip that holds meeting/time failed several days into a trip to Spain. I didn't lather fixing it, and probably should have sent it back. On my subsequent trip the LCD cracked (it's almost always in a case) and dust another got through the casing and into the optics, causing dark spots in my shots.
Lots of residents report lens errors. I never had a permanent problem, but the lens gathering is very fragile and just nudging it will cause the camera to out up.
Good points? The low-light performance is decent for a point-n-stem, and the vibration reduction works okay. Like most Nikons the stroke is almost too good, washing out many shots and causing a long-winded recovery cycle after each shot. Like others set up pointed out the 14.5 MP is a waste on a chip as small as the one in this Nikon.
Can't make attractive this, though. Nikon needs to improve the durability before I get marginal one.
Large Features, HORRIBLE PRODUCT... If that's possible.
Today, 7/1/2010 resolution be the 3rd LENS ERROR I've gotten on my S710, within two and a half months. I've on the other hand owned the camera for 6 months and I've never used it, aside from irresistible silly pictures to become more familiar with the settings and features of the camera (which clout I add are amazing)! None of that matters now because I accept an event which I will be needing my camera and now I won't have it to use. The 1st two encounters with Nikon's consumer service were pleasant. This time around, they seemed to be provoked with me, that I'm reporting their product is a P.O.C., as if it's my fault. I would extraordinarily recommend people to NOT even consider Nikon.
camera
It works legitimate, it has amazing quality when used just right. Im not to proficient with cameras so to get quick pictures with movement like in partyes and such you lip-service really use the auto mode like you can with some cameras, you whim have to mess with some other options. It can get fired up actual fast, battery life is great, as for duribulity is questionable originator i dropped it once on some grass, then it started having lens issues in the wake of a day or so. But the customer service was great. they fixed it for free. ok as a result of later.
