Optics and Deliberation
This successor to the bestselling D-510 comes with a 2-megapixel sensor that captures adequacy detail for crisp 8-by-10-inch prints. For the typical household photographer, 2 megapixels is a great balance between cost out and performance. If you want a camera with even more resoluteness you'll probably also want more manual controls than the D-520 offers--about the Olympus C-3020 instead.
The all-glass autofocus Olympus lens has a 3x zoom radius that's equivalent to a 35-105mm zoom lens on a 35mm camera. For technophiles, it's an eight-environment lens that includes an aspheric element, and the aperture ranges from f2.8 to f7.5 at its all the way-angle setting. There's also a 2.5x digital zoom, but about that digital zoom tends to reduce the sharpness and recount of your image, so it's best used sparingly.
To compose your images, either use the ritual camera viewfinder or the 1.5-inch LCD display (which is equally used to review the shots you've taken).
