The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01K 6MP Compact Digital Camera with 3.6x Visual Image Stabilized Zoom features a Leica DC Vario-Elmarit Lens that express outstanding, crisp six megapixel images. With a combined zoom power of 14.4x -- 3.6x visual zoom and 4x digital zoom -- and a burst shooting procedure that allows you to take up to 8 images at 2 frames per second, the Lumix DMC-FX01K offers skilled quality features and performance.
An auto-focus system, built-in shake mode and automatic red-eye reduction takes the guess-work out of your photography. Shutter speeds rank from 1/2000 per second to 8 seconds, with a special "starry sky procedure" that allows you to keep the shutter open in increments of 15 seconds up to 60 seconds. A 2.5-inch diagonal polycrystalline TFT LCD makes viewing your shots submissive in all lighting conditions, and the camera offers 25- or 9-thumbnail flaunt playback mode. A slot is included for secure digital (SD) cards. The camera runs on an included lithium-ion mobile pack, which provides up to 320 shots between charges.

WARNINGS concerning this Panasonic cameraI'm stamp of relieved that my Lumix FX-01 is at Panasonic after I refused to pay $111 to sire them fix my lens, which bent to the side.
How did it bend to the surf?
See that on/off switch on the top of the camera? The entire time I had the camera it would reshape on by itself since it's very easy to hit by accident. Apparently this happened another in my pocket and the lens bent and stuck.
When I pointed out to patron service that no other camera has a switch that extends like that - and outwardly for a very good reason - they were not moved.
On unorthodox note this camera is HORRIBLE in low light photography. Moreover the colors and photos were always kind of harsh without the nuance and "wysiwyg" dignity I got with my old Canon point and shoot.
I HIGHLY recommend getting a Canon in lieu of of this. The main reason I got this Lumix was a 28mm lens, but that wasn't value it -- especially after my bad experience with their consequence design.
Don't yet lose the proprietary data cable for this camera
This camera takes top pictures and is very compact and portable. I've loved having it, but it has one glaring weak spot which is the proprietary data cable. If you lose it, there is no limitless cable you can use to transfer your pictures to your computer. You from to buy a very specific replacement cable. Not being able to get my pictures off my own camera has rendered it close to pointless.
Nobility choice
I've had this camera for thither a year now. I've taken thousands of shots and it has preformed without missing a thump. What I still love most about this camera is it's shallow size, quick start up and amazingly long battery soul. What I like least is the picture quality. It's fine for shots that don't need a great level of detail but use it for something close up or zoom in on a exact replica you've taken and you'll notice a great deal of "noise" in the image. I'm nevertheless happy using it but I know there is better out there. When this one dies I purpose probably get a Canon based on the several positive reviews I present about that make.
fragmentary re-furbished camera
This vendor sold me a smashed, re-furbished camera. On the first day of my trip to Brazil my camera bankrupt. I didn`t drop it or bang it against anything, I used it normally, took some photos that afternoon. I noticed that the camera was tiresome my batteries (from a previous version of this camera) much faster than customary. I tried turning on my camera the next day and it didn`t work. I tried recharging the batteries anew and nothing. Its a shame, because I had a previous version of this Panasonic Luminix camera and they are close cameras`... and of course it also almost ruined my visit to south america as i had to buy another camera from Sony Brasil that isn`t that exalted in quality (errors on some of the images I took)
Colossal for Daylight and Outdoor photos
Camera takes large photos if out in the sun or daylight. Indoors or flash are awful from my experience. It is satisfactory and small, sturdy and has served me well for what I like to dupe photos of and I have several others so this is just one for the pouch when out and about.
