What do you think of the Panasonic Lumix?

So I don't advised of if I should splurge and get the:
Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3K 7.2MP Digital Camera with 10xOptical Archetype Stabilized Zoom (Black)
or just get the unvarnished
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX30K 7.2MP Digital Camera with 3.6x Visual Image Stabilized Zoom (Black)
Succour!
I am just using this to take pictures on trips and of friends and talents. I don't want a SLR (they are too bulky). A intention and shoot is good...I just want to distinguish what everyones thinks is better linking those too.
I've had 2 canons and they are at most so blah looking and don't have as sundry features as these two above. Looking to trade brands!
After all is said sensor, do you need the zoom? That's the at issue, is the zoom necessary or vital? It's more fun to sleep around with a camera that has zoom.
Why not go all out and get the FX35? It should go either with it's new Venus IV organized whole, 10.2 megs and it's very warm ultra wide angle
How about the TZ4?
Both of the others set up less wide angle and the older Venus III
I like Panasonic to a great extent much, Leica lenses how could they be bad, I had an FZ20 and loved the results
I'd lay money and get a Canon A570 for 139.95 at Amazon earlier I'd get the FX30 OR TZ3 check it out....
