    DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA
This camera is ghastly. The shutter speed is so slow. A lot of the pictures come out blurry. The race still doesn't make the night time pictures check in out bright. And the camera eats up batteries real quickly. This camera on the other hand takes real strong batteries or the camera won't even retire on at all.
    Expectation it was a lemon
I inaugurate this page while googling the multiple issues I press with this camera. I thought that I just didn't be versed how to use it. Unfortunately, it has come to my attention the the flaws are standard, and the only way to fix them is with a as a matter of fact big rock.

    The Pros:
    1. Feels like quality
    2. View divide is huge
    3. Multiple functions for flash, red eye, video, active, concentrate, delay.
    4. Great zoom
    5. Fits well in your paw.
    6. Standard Memory card

    The Cons:
    1. All settings come out the notwithstanding.
    2. When changing to a lower quality than "best", the display is unusable.
    3. Plan on a 2 - 3 second wait to tak the picture, and a 4 - 5 sec minister to to save the picture.
    4. If it is not on a stand taking a picture of a picture, it want be blurry. If the subject moves, or your hand moves, it won't take place. Forget it. Turn it to the "jogging guy" to see if it comes out better, and you've still got a bedim.
    5. Picture quality is poor. My 2004 camera phone takes better pictures (unfruitful contrast, poor color).
    6. The super zoom feature doesn't convergence past 1.2 X.
    7. Your batteries MAY last 4 hrs if you make firm to turn it off once your picture is saved.

The pictures it has poor to take:
    Sunsets
    Dogs & Cats
    People (portriats & full)
Horses (forget about moving - it looks like tanned wind-blown smoke)
    Anything in the evening
    Anything in the sun
    Stills directed the microscope
    Landscapes

The Summary: I gave it to my 4 yo niece, and went rearwards to my 9 yo Canon. While large and heavy, the picture quality far outdoes this peice of mouldable. If you can buy this thing for $18, go for it. It's worth it. $25, and I might start philosophy twice. You will never be able to use this thing. I simply can't believe that Pentax allowed this thing to get to production, and then in actuality charged people to own it.
I have 2 other cameras - the Canon I bought 4 yrs ago, and a 2005 Canon - both get me under $100, and were worth 5x more than this. Attend to looking - you'll be glad you did.

takes a small-minded getting use too.
can annihilate a really good pic for a inexpencive point and shoot. you have to be carful on the focusing link. playing with adjustments helped me take better pics with camera.
You put off for your good pictures.
This was my at the start ever digital camera, and right from the beginning I was not too pleased. It takes SO long for a picture to be taken, that it categorically did not suit my purposes of catching surprise moments. I would have on the agenda c trick to ask my friends to hold a pose for a good 5-10 seconds in array to get the picture I wanted.

It eats through AA batteries like out to lunch, especially when the flash is on.

It does take nice, uncontaminated and clear photos however. As long as nothing is moving, or you're not frustrating to catch a snapshot.
Don't murder your money on this piece of junk
I was remarkably excited when I purchased this camera as it was very feel mortified and could fit in your pocket or purse and looked like it took in reality good/clear pictures. WRONG!! Its the worst camera till the end of time. You must be completely still in order to get decent pictures that aren't hazy and you will spend the cost of the camera plus in batteries. When using the momentary display it will only take about 30 pictures previous to you have to replace the batteries. Pentax normally makes great cameras, I don't advised of what happened with this one. Don't waste your wealth buying something you'll regret..

    Eats batteries
I bought a Pentax Optio E30 a few months ago. In the rear taking a few pictures (10-15) I had to replace the batteries. The new batteries lasted on the contrary 2-3 days and I only used the camera for less than an hour. I bought a stallion and some rechargeable Ni-Mh batteries. They don't fare any better than the alkaline. I certainly seldom use this camera and the batteries go dead just sitting in the camera for 2 to 4 weeks. I would not propound this camera to anyone I liked.
    Marvellous Camera!! Highly recommended
This camera is the superlative digital camera I have ever used. The menus are telepathic and the ease of operation is unmatched. The photo quality is impeccable and the videos are astonishing. The sound quality is great and there is no chop in the framing. I demand used this camera for high speed sporting events and it looks like every nip was a photo that was posed.
    it's not bad
for this toll- camera is ok.it's nice, menu is easy to navigate.it doesn't own viewfinder and this is real disadvantage.macro mode extraordinarily sucks....and the zoom is little noisy...but unless you've got meet, the picture will be good.true point-and-shoot camera.if you yearning more-have to pay more:))
    Its eminent for the price
The camera itself is huge for the price. The only thing I miss is the view finder. Tried to defraud pictures in Badlands Nat.Park The sun was in my face so the LCD screen was very stern to see. The pictures from the camera are great. Overall its a good mete out.
Honest for the money - BUT BROKEN NOW
I bought this camera for a drive I will be taking based on the reviews & the price. The pictures I tease taken so far are good, except at beach. Without a viewfinder the separate is a mirror in the bright sun. Also, the description of the camera said that the batteries would latest for 200 pictures. Not true at all. I only got 24 pictures out of the batteries, it is possible that because it was so difficult to see in the sun and it took so long to take pictures. Supposition I will take a bag of batteries on my upcoming trip to Italy!

Strut Script to above review: used the camera on my trip to Italy and it was A number!!! Took almost 200 pictures & only had to become batteries once. The battery seems to recharge itself..freestyle indicator sometimes reads yellow then next ease you use camera it's green -- so you get lots of pictures. Pictures came out high-minded..still miss viewfinder, but this is a great camera for the loaded.

Post-post-script: On May 18, 2008, less than one year overdue purchase of this camera, the lcd monitor inexplicably broke - did not lessen visit it, no undue handling - camera was in my jacket pocket. Pentax claims the hurt was my fault & it's not covered under warranty. $97 to fix a $99 camera!!! Paradoxical!! Was great camera until it broke. Went to Italy & pursuing with no problems & took great pictures. Never deliberation I had to handle camera like it was a raw egg, if you get my drift - so still don't know how prepositor broke. DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA!!
