Sllllloooooowww shutterStraight away you take the picture the is camera incredibly slow and delayed in literally taking the picture. Unless you have a very patient butt many times you will lose the moment or end up with a heart-rending target due to this long delay. So slow I would at no time recommend this camera. Many times I end up taking moveis vs. pictures too, in incorrectly. I am absolutely NOT a professional, but do have common sense and it tells me this camera is no passable for an average user. I purchased based on the positive reviews, but compel ought to to 100% disagree.
greatly frustrated
I purchased this camera as a pourboire for my son a year ago. He has had little occasion to use it. He estimates it's been used 4 times. Now as he attempts to use it outstanding the holidays, the shutter won't open and the lens won't come forward as the camera is turned on. It is two weeks out of the producer warranty. Of course, neither Amazon or Samsung wish to accept blame now that it's out of warranty. They wish me to pay more to have a camera repaired that's had bloody limited use. I certainly don't wish to purchase any more Samsung products and have to admit I'm very disappointed with Amazon's response, in the light of how many items I've purchased through them.

Consummately L O V E my camera
due to my existence lazy i'm just now writing a review! i've had my camera since regal of '06 and absolutely LOVE it! My pictures are crisp/clear, camera's compendious enough to fit in my little purse and it goes everywhere with me! my at worst issue is that I paid $189 +tax and as u can see it's a lot cheaper now! Go for it!!!!!!!!!!!
Replaces a camcorder
One of the things that other reviewers liberal out is how great a camcorder this is. Ok, I know it is a camera, but in video status it will shoot a high quality video for about one and one partly hours with a 2 Gb card. It uses Sd cards, very tuppence (I paid $19 for mine on sale at Best Buy). It has an image stabilizer built in but you tranquil have to hold it steady, a tripod is best. When I pose friends video they cannot believe it is from a camera. Mpeg4 640X480 at 30 frames per alternate. The really cool thing is you can zoom while video recording. Most cameras do not grant this. It is only 3 times optical but I have had good results filming taste league baseball.
As a camera, it is fair. Good prints but great shutter lag. You can put it on program rather than auto and then wring the flash to always go off. You get better pictures inside and out. The backlight role works very well as another reviewer mentioned.
It is feel discomfited so I carry it everywhere and makes a great second camera.
